We finally made it!  You are officially a toddler!  You have changed so much that I don’t even remember what we used to do before you were ever here!  My days were very boring, but I did used to be able to watch more TV!

You still love your baths.  You love taking a shower with Mommy or Daddy, and now you have learned to close the drain so all the shower water makes a bath for you to splash and play.  I  always have to sneak around you to unplug the drain to get the soapy water down, but you turn right back around and close it again. 

You have no desire to walk.  A month ago you would walk and walk if we would hold your hand, but now you are too stubborn and just sit down.  I guess you can get anywhere you want by crawling and climbing so walking is not really a big deal.  You will do it one day, just like you have done everything else.

You have a couple bad run ins with Patches O’Houlihan.  She has scratched you on the face about three times now, but you still love her and say “kitty” and “gentle."

You love to “slide into home” wherever you go.  It’s like you want to make an entrance.  When you get to the item you want, you slide on your stomach with your hands out like you have to tag the base.  Anytime you are crawling towards the kitchen or bathroom floor, you slide into it.  Mommy and Daddy always do the “safe” sign in baseball and you just laugh.

You have decided you enjoy putting your toys in your mouth and crawling around.  Maybe you have been hanging out with Sammy too much.  You are channeling the dog!

You throw all of your toys over any baby gate then have no idea what to do when you are out of toys.   

You can now say: Mama, Dada, doggie, kitty, yellow, turtle, gentle, I do, and (Daddy’s favorite) Hi Dad!

We can’t believe you are 1!  It’s been the best year of our lives.  We have dealt with heart murmurs, asthma, ear infections, colds, hernias and eczema, but we wouldn’t change anything at all.  You have the best personality and your smile in the morning really helps me get my lazy butt out of bed.  You are so happy to see people and your little old man grin makes me smile.  We love you tons and tons and can’t wait to but the Big Brother shirt on you!

If we had the choice of who to pick out from heaven, it would have been you!
