Before
After
I think we may have taken the baby proofing to the extreme this time. We purchased a brand new flat screen TV (mind you, the other one we had was working fantastic) so we could mount it on the wall and get all the components out of J’s reach. That kid likes to wait until Mommy is comfortably laying on the couch, and go up to the TV, hit it, get his greasy fingerprints all over the screen, change the inputs or turn the TV off. Everytime I would say NO, he would just laugh at me. I think he knew Mommy wasn’t getting off the couch anytime soon. We just had it installed yesterday. All the wires are hidden behind the walls so nothing is showing at all. We had the electrical socket moved up from the bottom of the wall to behind the TV, so J can’t get into that either. All the components are in a cabinet in the corner.
It’s not all quite done yet though. We are waiting on the cabinet door…the wooden panel is getting replaced with screen so the cable boxes aren’t getting blocked from the remotes. We are waiting on my lazy ass to put my pictures and candle holders back up to make it look all pretty, and for the cable company to come and upgrade our DVR box for us.
We are very happy with how it turned out. It’s amazing how much extra room this has given us in our small living room. Way more room for Jared to throw his toys around.
