Dearest Jake

This day has brought me some wonderful memories.  1 year ago, you completed our family when you were born.  I can’t imagine our lives without you and your sneaky little personality.

You have learned so much this month and have developed a “trouble maker” personality.  Just the other day,  you pulled out some foil from the trash can that had some chicken on it and started eating it!  I guess you can’t be left alone anymore :)  You love to eat and you eat everything.  Like things that aren’t even food :)  Your favorites right now are anything that is a carbohydrate, peaches, bananas, tortellini and cheese.  I always say you eat like a fat man because you are constantly shoveling. 

You have learned to crawl like a big boy this month.  You have learned to put yourself into a sitting position also.  You pull yourself up on everything you can.  Daddy has been putting you through some tough walking training, by taking laps around the kitchen while pushing your lion.  You walk around with that with the biggest smile on your face, as if you were so proud of your accomplishment.

You and Jared have been playing together lately.  Since you are pretty fast at crawling, you chase him through the house and Jared laughs and laughs.  You wrestle with each other and steal each others water, and are just really forming a beautiful relationship.  Jared is still rough with you at times, and we are working on teaching him that he can’t just push you down when he doesn’t want you near his toys.

You have this amazing little smile.  You flash it at us all the time, as if you are trying to keep us from getting mad at you :)  You are so funny and I know you have a sneaky little personality.  

We love you more than anything.  You are such a joy to our family and I can’t imagine life without you. 

If we had the choice of who to pick out from Heaven, it would have been you.  In a second.
