3 Very Short Years

Dear Jared.  Today you turn 3.  With tears in my eyes, maybe a few in yours, but because we just put you on time out for smacking your brother.  We love you with all our heart and can’t believe you have grown up to become the little man you are.

You are growing out of your clothes but I refuse to buy anything that has a 4 and a T on it. Get used to crop tops.

You are in love with Chuggington, to Grandpa’s happiness.  Anything with trains makes Grandpa ecstatic.  He’s waiting to put out his ultra vintage expensive Lionel trains for you.  I am anxious to keep those expensive items right where they are for now :)

You hate being apart from your brother.  Although you boys fight, it’s hard for you to not be by his side.  “Love you brother” comes from you often, and makes me melt.

You say “Pease, Mommy, Pretty Pease Mommy.” when you really, really want something.  Who says no to that?  This Mama does sometimes :)

You love opening and closing the garage door.  You speak of it daily. 

You get a chocolate chip when you go pee pee on the potty.  You keep asking how you can get 2 chocolate chips and I keep telling you how. 

Sometimes you just need alone time and you go in your room with your puzzles or a book and close the door.  Jake then cries on the other side of the door until you let him in.

You know when we drive into the Walmart parking lot that you are going to get yogurt.  Thank you to McDonald’s for the Fruit and Yogurt Parfaits that my kids can’t do without. 

You know when we drive into the Costco parking lot that you are getting a cookie AKA churro.   You ask for something at Target and it’s usually something from the dollar section because I don’t like Target food.  You are a creature of habit and it’s cute.

You are very black and white.  You stick to the rules and how you have learned things.  Things have to be done in a certain way and no short cuts.

Just remember how much we love you.  You are our first born and I will never forget the day we got to see you for the first time.  You are hilarious, sweet, stubborn and cute.  We love you, Jared.  More than you will ever know.
