Happy Birthday Jake!

We celebrated us surviving Jake’s second year by inviting a couple friends over to enjoy, what Jared calls, our new park in the backyard.  A couple hours of hot sun at 9:30 in the morning followed by cupcakes for lunch, made a great little celebration.  Too bad our birthday boy felt terrible from his minor head wound and barely smiled the entire time.

2 nights before…

Top Chef here asks every night to bake.  Someone may be getting a set of cupcakes mailed to them sometime soon.

The day before…

If baking doesn’t work out, maybe a career in dirt castle making will.

Nate Nate came over to play too.  Soggy crackers in the water table became the new favorite for all.  Jake highly enjoyed the old crackers found in the sand from days earlier.

This was about as best as I could get the sick little man.  Sun sick, stomach sick, head wound sick.  Not really sure.

The club meetings start early.  I still don’t know the password to get in.

I still don’t let my kids eat in clothing.  When they are in college, running around naked after dinner, you all know who is to blame.

Good Morning my 2 year old!!!

Jake, I hope you like this car.  We spent 3 hours putting the stupid fantastic thing together for you the night before your birthday, starting at 8:15 at night, still have parts left over and a screw sticking out that we spent 45 minutes trying to get out, or in, for that matter.  Enjoy it son.  Enjoy it a lot.

After an entire day of listening to brother’s fight and scream and cry and have epic timeout’s about the stupid fantastic car, we decided to let them scream, cry and fight at Grandma and Papa’s for the remainder of the day.   A lounge chair for mama, a swimming pool with warm water, a cocktail for said mama, and some free pizza, finished off the day with a bang.

Bring it on year 3.
