3 Months

Dear Jake

You have been a part of this family now for 3 months.  I am not sure what we did without you!  You are such a mellow child.  You fit right in to the chaos of this family.  You are so used to your brother now and tolerate all his kisses.  He tends to poke at your soft spot, so mommy has to monitor him when he is loving on you.  You rarely ever cry, unless your brother smacked you with a remote or you are so super hungry.   Other than that, you just chill in your bouncy seat or under your playmat. 

The last few nights you have slept all night long.  It has been a long time coming for this mama.  Your brother slept all night long from a very early age, and you wanted nothing to do with that.  You are still little, which is why you wanted to eat at 3 in the morning.  But lately, you have been packing on some pounds, mostly in your chin, and have been content to sleep until 5 or 6 in the morning now. This mama feels refreshed in the morning.  I hope you continue on this path.

We haven’t had to do any cry it out with you because  you aren’t a very fussy baby at all.  There are only two reasons you cry.  If you are hungry or you just don’t want to lay in your crib anymore.  When you cry, we put you in your swing and you just hang out there without a peep.  Sometimes, you just want to be a part of the chaos. 

Mama attempted her first outing with you and your brother all by herself.  We went grocery shopping at Walmart a few weeks ago.  You hung out in the Baby Bjorn, the whole time while your brother was talking and yelling at all the customers at Walmart.  You just hung out and then fell asleep.  You are a good little traveler and just go with the flow.

You spend a day with Grama  and Papa every week.  Sometimes we hand you and your brother over an extra day so Mama and Daddy can have time to go to Costco or something.  You love Grama and Papa.

A couple times a week, I put you on Skype with Grama and Grampa.  Just the other day, you smiled at them and giggled a little bit.  It is so wonderful that Grama and Grampa get to see you all the time now, even though they can’t hold you.  But soon, we will go visit them and you can get all the snuggles you want.

You have learned to laugh and laugh lately.  Daddy can make you laugh so hard you get the hiccups.  You will always smile when you see us, but Daddy is the one that gets you going!  I even video taped your laugh the other day.  It’s priceless.  You are such a happy baby.
