Jared and I just got back from one of the best weekends we have had in a long time. We went to Northstar in Tahoe to meet up with Michelle, Paige and Jen and their little babies. We have been doing this every year and it’s so great to see everyone in person and see how much the babies have grown. We all had such a wonderful time. We laughed a ton, we chased after our babies, and more importantly, we made some fantastic memories that we can remember forever. On Friday, we hung out at the Northstar Village and went to the Chocolate Bar and had some martini’s while the babies ate their little goldfish snacks. After we had some alcohol in our system, we took the babies over to the playground where they ran and climbed their little hearts out before dinner. The next morning, we went to Truckee where there was Kids Zone indoor playground. There was a big jungle gym inside, a place to play with your trains, a whole dress up section, a playhouse and some little toy horses you can ride. The kids had a fantastic time and we were able to actually sit down and watch them play in a secure area. There was even a little infant section that was all padded that a tiny baby can crawl around in. When Jakey gets crawling, we are definitely going back. It was $12 well spent. The babies went down for a nap afterwards, then we went back to the Northstar Village for another drink (shocking) and some fun during the Art and Wine Festival they were holding up there. There was free bubble play and a singer there that serenading the babies with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. We went back to the cabin to have Thanksgiving dinner. Yeah that’s right. Michelle got the bug and wanted to cook a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings. Man, it was good! We left Sunday morning to come home and see Daddy and Jakey. We missed them! Can’t wait until next year!
Michelle & Andrew, Jen & Grevin, Paige & Hayley, Myself and Jared.
Michelle and Jared at the playground. It was hard to catch the little guy!
Grevin was a pro at the swing!
Hayley taught everyone how to slide!
Jared loved the swing and couldn’t stop laughing!
Andrew was definitely the monkey and hung all by himself!
We took the babies into the arcade and they all had a chance to ride Donald Duck!
Jared and Andrew had a blast “playing” Grand Prix. They are both great drivers.
All 4 babies in the bathtub. But don’t turn around for even a second…someone might poop.
Michelle made all the babies these fantastic shirts. On the front had their names and their birth order (Jared was #4) and the back had their group picture from last year…
”What a difference a year makes.”
The Village was had a guitar player singing during the festival. He saw all our babies and started singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. The babies were glued to him. It was such a fun moment.
Thank you Darin Talbot!
Yes, I did it. I saw the dress up at Kid Zone and immediately tackled my son and put him in a chicken outfit. He LOVED it and so did I. Well, maybe he didn’t LOVE it, but he tolerated it and just went along with his day.
He just saw how cute he looked!
Jared made the cutest little cow.
He really enjoyed looking at himself in the mirror.
There was free bubble play at the festival. Not sure it was the brightest of ideas since they were all soapy by the end and baby wipes only made it all sudsy when I tried to clean them off.
Of course, my son takes the dish soap and soaks himself in it.
Paige brought them all matching pajamas.
All the monkeys started jumping on the bed. None fell off, but two bumped their heads. And those two would be Jared and Grevin.
(The babies were about 5 months old)
Girls Weekend, 2010
Thank you to all my wonderful friends for making such a priority to meet up every year. Thank you to Michelle Wing and Oma for allowing us the use of the cabin at Northstar. Can’t wait until 2014 when we do the Disney Cruise!
